The animals of ancient greece!
Greece is very dry and has lots of mountains. There were wild animals such as boars, foxes, hares and wolves and mountain lions. The commonest animals were goats and sheep, hens, dogs and donkeys. Horses were expensive to keep and a symbol of great wealth. Heavy farm work was done by horses usualy.
Many Greek stories involve monsters which are part animal and part human. The Greeks often used foreign animals in their art.
